start with the home page when you go to wordpress.com > log in
menu items across the top to help you naviagate the site
CLICK ON DASHBOARD TAB
This is what the dashboard looks like. It is called the dahsboard or panel because this is what is used to edit the wordpress site and do all types of stuff.
1st feature I want to show you is the Dragging and dropping feature.
Each of these sections are called modulars. If you click on and hold the heading bar across the top you will be able to move the modular to a different location on your dashboard. The others ones just pop into place to fill that space. This allows you to customize your dashboard to what best suits your needs.
But what if you don't want to see a modular or section on your dashboard at all? That is easy because you can just scroll your mouse over the right end of the modular and collapse it by clicking on the drop down arrow. This is true for each and every panel. SHOW HOW EACH MODULAR OPENS AND CLOSES
This collapse and open function also works for the modulars along the left hand side naviagation bar.
Now lets look at how to closing and open the navigation panel along the left side of your dashboard
CLICK ON THE DOUBLE ARROW UNDER THE DASHBOARD -it is very small and located under the dashboard modular. See how the menus go to just the icons to save you space on your dashboard. If you scroll over the menu icon you can what is in each menu.

You will see a group of modulars listed with a box next to the modular
What this is for is if you want to delete a modular you do not use it you can uncheck the modular and it will not appear on your dashboard to make it reappear just click in the box and it will again reappear in your dashboard SHOW CHECKING AND UNCHECKING BOX
EDITING AND POSTING
CLICK ON POST along the left navigation bar now click on the screen options
Notice that the screen options are different than what appears on the dashboard screen options. You can check and uncheck from the screen options and the columns below appear and disappear.
